Welcome!

To all of you who have shown such enthusiasm for our little corner of the local economy: Friends, we have some exciting announcements to make! We're now in our fourth year of providing a good place to find wholesome foods and hand crafted goods of the finest quality.

  • Once again we have a wonderful lineup of Demonstrators and Musicians.
  • A milestone for this year is the opening of our new web-page.
  • We are also very happy to be housing our week-to-week supplies in our new building.
  • The building also features a green latrine - green as in composting.
  • And to top it all off we have added an hour of operation.

We've developed as a unique Market - part community center, part country fair, part champion for local food and farm product, all heart and soul. Many folks say we are one of the best markets they have ever been to.

Your visit here will show you how a committed group of citizens can work within the local government to bring forth a truly positive dream. Our location allows for a really large array of vendors. Our grounds are well maintained (thanks to the Village Staff). There is plenty of parking. We are well within biking distance from anywhere in town.

Take the time to look through our collection of educational resources. Be sure to get the latest copy of our informative monthly newsletter. For those who wish to cultivate a closer relationship with the Market we even maintain a Lending library.

Most market days will find people demonstrating a variety of activities; such as spinning, worm composting, dancing, labyrinths, cider pressing, etc. Or, if not a demonstration, it is music to your ears with such talents as Katie Shoenher, Detour, Seth and Daisy May, the Grand Traverse Pipes and Drum Corps, and many more.

The list of products we offer at our lively market includes local grass-fed chevron and chicken. Our locally grown fruits and vegetables are produced with loving care and some are specifically grown to be nutrient dense. You will find heritage varieties as well as recent additions that have proven to be particularly tasty. We also sell eggs, honey, maple syrup, baked goods, plants and cut flowers. Our crafts people have a nice selection of soaps, candles, wreathes, clothing, pottery, etc.

Remember us when shopping for Gifts for Open-houses, Birthdays, Anniversaries, or any special occasion. Remember us when supplying food for your Restaurant Menu, Reunions, Picnics, Church Dinners, Family Meals, and Pot-lucks.

If you haven’t yet been to the village green on Saturdays, come join us Spring, Summer, or Fall and actually enjoy shopping for a change. We hope our Market sounds like the kind of place you’d come to and find yourself pleasantly surprised. We can't wait to see you there.

Sincerely, the LeRoy Farmers’ Market Committee
